A major focus of our schools these days is to work to make our students college and career ready. I believe that having daily access to technology in the classroom is an extremely important step in helping students prepare for the future. These Kindle Fires will be used by my students on a daily basis and will ensure they have access to the tools needed to truly become college and career ready. My students will use the tablets to access valuable technology tools, such as Google Docs, Wixie, and an unlimited supply of books for them to read. I like to use collaborative tools, like Google Docs, so the students can learn from each other in a fun way. My students are also avid readers! On a daily basis, they are participating in a Reader's Workshop, where they have time to read independently and respond/write about what they have read. My classroom library is fairly limited, but the Kindles will give them access to thousands of books, which they will absolutely love!
