Painted Rock Way
Funded Aug 31, 2017This project has been awesome. My students had a lot of fun with painting and customizing their rocks. Some students chose a more realistic approach while many others chose to be much more abstract with their designs.
All students we in kindergarten though eight grade were able to paint at least one, and when spring comes these students will feel a great scenes of pride and accomplishment when they see their creation helping to beautify our school garden.
thank you so much for helping my students finish this project. It will be a part of our school for many years to come.”

Building Young Architects
Funded Mar 29, 2017I let my 5th graders unbox the legos and they were so exited when they opened them and started thinking about all the possibilities. They were extremely grateful and can't wait to start some awesome lego projects.
With the new school year in full swing I was finally able to do this project with a few classes. The students love building with the legos and are learning a lot about architecture in the process. I have even had a few students profess a desire to become an architect when they grow up.
I plan on doing at least one city building architecture project with each grade (kindergarten - 8th) throughout the school year. The legos will be retained and will be used for awesome projects for years to come. Thanks again to everyone who gave to this fun project.”

Funded Oct 27, 2016The sculptural materials you provided helped make this incredibly fun, cultural project possible. My students are better able to use symbolism in their art work, and have improved communication and cooperation skills.
My students we so exited when they saw the plaster come out of the boxes and were eager to get started. They experimented with different ways of using the plaster and quickly became skilled at applying and smoothing it to achieve the finish they wanted.
They totem poles the students made/ are making are meant to represent they cultural values they share as a class. The conversations generated by this concept were very rewarding and helped the students recognize the impact their culture has on their daily lives.”
