Thank you so much for helping to fund my project! It truly is a blessed start to the new teaching semester, and couldn't happen at a more critical juncture: the January English Regents exam. Now, I can prepare our students for this crucial moment in a far more dynamic and engaging way. Thank you especially for helping to make this possible for a few more of NYC's most needy and deserving students. In the coming months, please be sure to look out for some samples of my students learning, engaging with, and performing key anthems from the all-too-timely 'Hamilton'!”

Hello to All! I'm a high school English teacher currently in my third year of working for NYC's Dept of Education. My teaching of English literature and composition is humanities-based, drawing from a variety of literary genres (poetry, comics, short fiction) and disciplines (social studies, government, cinema, theater). College readiness is foremost on my mind, naturally, as I used to teach in the college and university classroom (fourteen years, in fact). But teaching public school was always in the cards for yours truly; in the Philippines, where I'm originally from, my paternal grandmother founded and taught at a high school in Ilocos Sur, while my maternal aunt taught Shakespeare and American literature to public school juniors and seniors in Metro Manila. I hope to make a difference in the reading and writing lives of all my students. To that end, your support will help me tremendously.
