Reading Supports Needed
Funded Aug 31, 2023I am so excited to see that this project has been funded. I can't wait to go to school on Tuesday and let the kiddos know they will have a variety of literacy projects in Kindergarten. The support of the DonorsChoose community is overwhelming and I feel so blessed to know individuals like value public education as much as you do. Thank you again for allowing me to provide these materials for my children. The development of literacy and language skills is so great and this project will certainly help with that need.”

Making Math Memorable
Funded Mar 23, 2022Thank you so much for making the contribution to my classroom. My math students are using resources daily. The manipulatives have made a profound impact on my students.
The smiles on their faces demonstrate their willingness to engage and participate in the daily math activities. We use the snap cubes just about every day. When they first received the manipulatives they were truly exited to get started and learn. To this day, my students continue show their eagerness to learn math with all of their new materials.
In addition, as the year progresses, I hope to see a growing willingness to take on a more leadership role with their math routines. I will know then that they have internalized the necessary math skills to take them to next level.
Sincerely,
Roberto Sanchez”

Concrete to Abstract: Math and Science Manipulatives
Funded Aug 13, 2021My students have been positively impacted by your generous contributions to my classroom. My students are using the math manipulatives daily. We use the snap cubes to count, compose/decompose and compare numbers.
My students' engagement in the their own learning is evident through their desire to work with their fellow classmates during small group/workstation time. They enjoy the social interaction while learning with the use of the math manipulatives. I'm happy to see how thrilled they are to do math!
In the coming weeks, I hope to extend their goals as most of them have reached their goals already.”
With gratitude,
Mr. Sanchez
This classroom project was brought to life by Bill Gates and one other donor.Concrete to Abstract: Developing Math Skills
Funded Aug 10, 2020First and foremost, I want to thank you for your donation to my students and project. My students are learning daily with the materials that were purchased with your donations. We are using the math manipulatives to teach and learn number recognition, subitizing, conservation and one-to-one correspondence of numbers. The dry erase boards allow students to share their responses during virtual learning. It has truly been a blessing to have these materials.
Most of my students received their gifts on a non-school day distribution on campus prior to the start of the school year. They were excited to receive their care packages and ready to start school. As you can see from one of the photos in the gallery, my student was thrilled by all of the materials received.
Kindergarten is such an important year in the development of reading and math concepts and skills. Next semester my students will continue to use the math manipulatives they receieved to reinforce and build upon their knowledge.”

Mr. Sanchez

Funded Feb 28, 2016First of all, thank you kindly for your contribution to the project, Thriving Through Learning English. Your contribution has made a tremendous impact on the lives of the students in my classes. As you will note from the photographs, the students are extremely excited to have the iPad Minis to enhance their learning of the English language. They are used daily to log onto MyOn which is an online literacy program that allows students to select books at their reading and interest levels.
My students can hardly wait for center time especially when it is time for them to get to use the technology, particularly the iPad Minis, in my classroom. While they do enjoy time at the desk top in the classroom, they prefer time on the iPad Minis because they can sit just about anywhere they want to read in the classroom. This flexibility is perhaps the most advantageous motivation to learn.
Due to the advantage of this technology in my classroom, a small group of students who are most reluctant to read English have thrived. Their desire to learn English through reading with the iPad Minis has had a profound impact in their listening and speaking skills as well as their reading skills. I'm sure that the students will continue to improve their English and learn more well beyond this school year. Your contribution to Thriving Through Learning English is truly appreciated.”

Mr. Sanchez
Technology Learning
Funded Aug 18, 2013Greetings from Mr. Sanchez's 2nd grade bilingual classroom. We are hard at work and at play learning as much English as we can. The HP Color Printer from the project called Technology Learning has been a tremendous asset in our learning. We are thankful that it has been funded.
The HP Color Printer and this project has had a wonderful impact the in the lives of the students in our classroom. My students are reaping the benefits of having colorful pictures for their activities, workstations and group work. The are truly motivated to learn the English language.
It is my sincerest hope that my children reach their fullest potential in my classroom. I am thankful for the opportunity to have the project funded. The impact that HP Color Printer has had in my classroom is indescribable. The students' smiles and "aha" moments keep me going.”
With gratitude,
Mr. Sanchez
