  • Clay, Glaze and Creativity for All!

    Funded Mar 27, 2024

Thank you for helping bring Ceramics to my awesome elementary school! Every child in our school from our 4-year old class to 5th grade had the opportunity to play with clay and begin to learn the very basics of ceramics.

Students created beaded clay owls, initial hearts, silly clay faces, turtles, cupcakes, simple pinch pots with lids and pinch pot animals. The overwhelming majority of students loved playing with the clay and I am so thankful to be able to give them this opportunity.

So, thank you for your generous donation and supporting the public schools. I'm thrilled to return to my same school next year and continue building on what we started this year with clay.”

  • Building an Art Classroom Community

    Funded Feb 9, 2024

What an incredible first six weeks it has been at my new school. My students are creative, funny and kind, and I am so happy to be their new art teacher!

We have had so much fun putting all the art supplies purchased through this grant to good use. Many of the purchased art supplies are used daily including the pencils, markers and drawing paper. Some supplies like the 12x12"cardstock are now beautiful Album Covers created by 5th grade. 3rd grade completed their Snow Globes and put the paint and glitter to good use. 4th grade loved the new tempera cakes and created Warm and Cool Color Dog Paintings.

I cannot thank you all enough for your generosity. Smiles abound in the art room and the projects created with these supplies are simply amazing.”

  • Art Supplies for Community School Murals

    Funded Sep 8, 2022

The arrival of the new art supplies at my high school was amazing! My students loved opening each box to see what was inside for them to create with!

We had the first Mural Club meeting of the year and we're off to a great start! Student mural submission ideas are coming in and I'm so excited to get started on the first one. In addition, my students are using the other supplies like pencils on a daily basis.

Thank you so much for helping make this project a reality! You generosity is truly appreciated.”

  • A Classroom Electronic Keyboard for Students with Special Needs

    Funded Jan 23, 2020

My students are so excited about our new music station. They were thrilled when the packages arrived, and carefully helped assemble the stand for the keyboard and create a music area in our classroom.

They absolutely love playing around with the different sounds this keyboard makes including the pre-made beats and multiple instrument sounds. I love that headphones were included so they can practice during their Free Choice time without disturbing the class!

I cannot thank all of you enough for contributing towards this project. It will bring a lot of happiness into my classroom, and personally I am thrilled to be able to share my love of piano with my awesome students.

    So, thank you!”

  • Creative Art Supplies For Students with Special Needs

    Funded Dec 5, 2019

I cannot thank you enough for your generous contributions that helped provide these amazing art supplies for my students. We opened them today and my students are so excited. Despite having a variety of disabilities, my students absolutely love drawing, painting, watercolors, clay and craft projects.

These art supplies will be used weekly during our Art class, as well as in other activities where basic supplies like glue, scissors, glue sticks and Sharpies are utilized.

Thank you for helping keep arts and crafts instruction in my program and for supporting public schools. Wishing each of you the happiest of holidays.

  • Sweet Treats Made With Love By Students with Special Needs

    Funded Aug 28, 2019

My students have been loving using our new kitchen and baking supplies. Learning to cook is a vital independent life skill. For students with disabilities, learning to read a recipe, measure a cup of water or a simple kitchen skill like cutting can be a challenge. Having fun new kitchen items like baking pans for cookies and brownies, safety knives and new measuring cups and spoons has been fun and inspiring for my students! My students will continue to use all of the new supplies throughout this year and for years to come.

I cannot thank each of you enough for your kindness and generosity and for helping make this project a reality.”

  • Learning to Make Healthy and Nutritious Choices in our Classroom

    Funded Aug 26, 2018

Thank you all for your generous donations to this project! My students have been using the new supplies daily in our program kitchen. The new safety knives and gloves have made cutting fruits and vegetables so much easier and safer! The games have been great to play and my students have really enjoyed learning about making healthier snack and food choices. We make breakfast and lunch daily, so there is a lot of opportunity to help students learn about healthy food choices and nutrition.

I cannot thank each of you enough for supporting public schools and my incredible students.”

  • STEM Games For Students with Special Needs

    Funded Aug 22, 2018

Thank you all so much for making this project happen. My students are really enjoying our new STEM games, special education task boxes and toys. The favorite seems to be the colorful flower and butterfly sorter which many of my students choose on their own during independent work time! Another favorite is the money cash register with very realistic bills and coins.

Unpacking the boxes filled with materials was so much fun! Just look at the pictures and see those smiles! Getting new games and toys is really special for my students and I couldn't have done it without generous donors like you.”

  • Butterflies LIVE and Insect Art

    Funded Mar 28, 2018

This trip was incredible! None of my students had ever visited the Botanical Gardens before so getting to go was a highlight of our year. The Butterflies Live exhibit was wonderful. The smiles on my students' faces when they saw hundreds of butterflies fluttering around was amazing. They learned a lot about butterflies and were especially interested in learning about how butterflies eat! We stayed in the exhibit for over an hour and they are still talking about that experience. One of the highlights was watching a butterfly land on one of my students who rarely smiles and watching her face light up with joy! It was truly a magical day for all of us. In addition, thank you for funding the insect and butterfly art supplies which we have been working on all week since our trip. Again, thank you all for making this trip happen and for your generous donations.”

  • Creative Art Adventures for Students With Special Needs

    Funded Apr 16, 2018

My students have been loving the new art supplies. The new aprons are a huge hit! It is so nice for them to put on brand new aprons each day for painting. The painted rock activity was also a big success. Some of the supplies are being saved for next school year such as the canvases and drawing paper and watercolors. As you can see from the photos, the new arts and crafts supplies definitely brought a smile to my students' faces.

I cannot thank you all enough for your generosity. Thank you for supporting art and special education in our nation's schools. It truly makes a difference.”

My goal is to help them learn functional life skills including community involvement, domestic skills like cooking and cleaning, recreation, exercise and leisure, and communication. I also help them with vocational training so they can find jobs in our community. I have the best job in the world.
