Treats for Positive Reinforcement!
Funded Oct 22, 2023Thank you for the "Treats for Positive Reinforcement"!! My students have a working card and it is a motivation for my students to work and earned their stars. When they collected 10 stars they can have a treat and eat it in the calming area as they are taking a break. My students love M&Ms, Skinny Popcorn, fruit snacks, and bars. My students saw the treats that were donated to the classroom and they were excited and determined to collect their stars, so they can earned their snack. This project, helped my students to be more focused and positive behavior was seen in my classroom. My students that had challenging behaviors were able to use alternative strategies to earned their stars to enjoy their treats. My students were engaged and working in every lesson and doing their homework too. I started giving 2 stars if they bring their packets at the end of the week. In the beginning of the school year I was just receiving 2 packets out of 9 students. Now, I am receiving 7 packets out of 9 students.
My students need other forms of positive reinforcement that can help. my classroom and students engagement. I am thinking that they can change their stars for classroom prizes or extra free time doing a game. My next project will be asking for some classroom prizes and some games that my students may do for extra free time.”

Funded Feb 6, 2023My calming area in the classroom was a big hit with most of my students. My students were able to go to the calming area and identified their emotions by looking at the feelings chart. My students had coping materials and strategies to utilized in the calming area to relaxed and calmed down to go back to their activities or classroom tasks. My students also used the coloring books to take a break and cope with their emotions. Colooring helped them to refocused and getting them ready to come back to their seat and be ready to work. The emotions book was a big hit for my students specially my non-verbal students because they will grabbed it and point to the visual to let me know how they were feeling.”
