Nearpod for English Learners

Since I began using NearPod with my English learners earlier this year, I have seen a great increase in engagement for my students. We have been entirely virtual since the beginning of the year, and making sure students are "really" in my class, instead of focusing attention elsewhere, has been my biggest challenge. High school students are distracted by telephones and videos even in the classroom.

Nearpod is a skill-builder. It allows access to a rich library of media, interactive activities (such as a collaborative discussion board) and videos with built in questions. I have used it at least twice a week since it joined my list of programs, thanks to your generous donations.

At a time when remote learning is very challenging for students, Nearpod allows me to assign appropriate activities quickly and assess them very quickly: I can print out and share progress with my students' families, and assign follow-up activities with parents. I can't begin to tell you how helpful this program has been!”
