  Over the years some authors become more popular with the children and these are some of the favorites the children enjoy at this time.

  Moe Willems is so fun to use in writing and reading because of the unique style of writing presented. The bold lines and print make the pictures come alive.

• Move and Groove!

  The children that I work with have been a joy. They express how much they love school and constantly tell me that they love school. This makes me so happy. I encourage them to do their best and follow the rules of the classroom. They love playing and learning about new things.

  The children enjoy using all the materials that were donated. They were very excited when I told them the boxes received were for them to use in the classroom. The materials make their day fun and more interesting. Some of the materials also help create the projects that go along with our curriculum.

  Many of these children come from low income families. They are excited when they see something new and fun in our classroom.

• Make Those Colors Pop!

  I am so grateful for your generous gift. This project item has brought color and interest to my lessons.

  The children are enjoying the literacy center games that I created using the color printer. The vivid colors and printed papers encourage the children to engage in the literacy games I created.

  The updated color printer helps me financially afford to print color copies more often. The ink tank enables me to print in color more often and in higher volume. The technology is updated and the printer is available more readily. Thank you once again for your generous gift.”

The utter joy and excitement the children feel when they play with the materials I was able to present to them is incredible. They look forward to choice time when they can pick the area of play they would like to enter. It it there where they establish friendships, learn to negotiate, build skills, and express their feelings. These are only a few of the many skills and benefits they have received as a result of your donation. Many of the children were not able to play along side other children in the past year or two. • But, We Have No Books in Our Home

  This past year has been one of the most challenging years of my career. The impact that the Covid-19 pandemic has put students, teachers, parents and administrators in a tailspin. Many agree that remote learning is not a substitute for in person learning. However, myself and my colleagues have risen to the occasion to teach our students in any way possible. Getting materials and books into their hands has been a struggle.

  Thankfully, through this donation I was able to get some books out to students to use when our class was in full remote mode. The children that were working on learning sight words were able to use the books to practice and read at home. Physically having a book in hand has made them so happy. Our little learners appreciate having a paper copy to use wherever they may be. In addition, when the children read in person they are able to read books that are on their level and safely in their possession.

• Building Community and Expressing Feelings

  I would like to sincerely thank you for funding my project. This was the first time I received a donation and it really made me as well as my students and co-teacher excited.

  The boxes arrived! The children experienced the reveal of the supplies and materials they would be using for our projects. The excitement and joy was clearly on their faces.

  The beautiful rug with the feeling faces made them extra happy since they also had an extra soft spot to sit during morning meeting and restorative circles. They love the bright colors and faces displayed on it.

  The paper people colors and paints and paint cups as well as the collage materials made our bulletin board stand out among the other kindergarten classes. We are looking forward to using more of the supplies throughout the year. The paints and paint cups and paper are a wonderful way to give the children ways to express themselves though art and creativity. They feel so proud to make something and they love sharing it with the class. The supplies are a welcomed since our big push this year is in Social Emotional Learning, a subject dear to my heart.
