We Can Do the Hokki-Pokie!
Funded Jul 20, 2016Dear Donors,
These Hokki Stools are not just ordinary stools. These Hokki Stools represent the trust I have in each of my third graders and the responsibility they must uphold. Most importantly, these Hokki Stools provide flexibility in movement while working. Third grade is a big step for many students (the shift from primary to intermediate grade levels) as the academic expectations and work load increase. Many students struggle to maintain engagement throughout the rigorous day. These awesome Hokki Stools have provided my students with the option to enjoy movement while maintaining focus throughout lessons and have the grades to prove that it was a successful move to switch our way of seating options! Thank you to each of you for your gracious donation to my classroom and my students. We are forever grateful!”

Creating Ravenous Readers!
Funded Feb 5, 2014With the help and support of each of you, my students have been able to master so many different reading and literacy skills and have become eager and ravenous readers! With your donation we were able to purchase 50+ leveled books that allowed each of my students to feel confident in reading a text that was on their reading level. This created a new love for reading for many of my struggling students who found it hard to find a book that was just right for them. I have also been able to use these stories in my guided reading groups, in which I spend 10-15 minutes with a small group of students teaching them, more intensively, reading strategies and skills that will aide in their continued reading success.
All twenty of my students are now reading (on their own level and pace) and I find them often curled up in a corner of our room engrossed in text. This is something that I only saw occasionally previous to receiving our new and engaging books. The different illustrations and stories provided meet a wide range of interest, which is perfect for my kindergartners, as their interest are ever changing. Many of my students strive to better their reading fluency so that they may go up a level. This will allow them to read more books that they are interested in. A student striving for reading success is every teachers dream! Thanks to all of you, I have a class full of kindergartners eager to read on a daily basis!
This project has not only allowed me to reach my current kindergartners, but will allow me to reach and teach all future students that enter my classroom. It's the gift that keeps on giving and I could not be more thankful! I appreciate all of you for helping me become a better teacher.”
With gratitude,

Creating Lifelong Learners
Funded Jun 14, 2010This is just a small token of gratitude for your generous donation to our classroom. The portable white-board cart has not only helped me in creating a more organized classroom but has aided in helping my lessons run smoothly and more efficiently. My students have also enjoyed being able to use it as an interactive writing tool. They also are able to use the cart during word studies and enjoy acting as the 'teacher.'
Due to your contribution to our classroom you have given us a tool that everyone within my classroom is able to utilize and benefit from.
Thank you for choosing to donate to our public school. Without donors like you, we would go without. ”
With gratitude,
Mrs. McHaffie
