A Science Library to Solve Life's Mysteries!
Funded Oct 3, 2024I cannot thank you enough for all of your contributions and support for my students and our classroom! The impact these materials will have on my students will be felt for years to come. You have given them a chance to improve their literacy and understanding of the world, both of which will help them achieve great success in the future. We are beyond grateful for generous and caring individuals like you. Thank you again!”

Funded Dec 1, 2021Thank you for all your support in bringing our project "Welcome Back Class of 2024" to life! Thanks to you, I was able to purchase an assortment of school supplies, decorations and adaptive seating/focusing tools for my students. These supplies included: dry erase boards, fidget and sensory toys, chair bands, stress balls, and inspirational quotes for the walls.
Having a fully decorated, inviting classroom environment was incredibly meaningful to my students who experienced major disruption during one of the most pivotal periods of their educational career. They were welcomed back and made to feel that things were "normal" again. This has contributed greatly to their success and work ethic throughout the year.
Focusing has been a real struggle for many students this year, as we transition back to a more traditional classroom setting. The fidget toys, stress balls and adaptive seating have all helped the students gradually ease back into being comfortable in the classroom again. The response from both students and parents to these supplies has been overwhelmingly positive. They love having a sense of normalcy, and having a classroom they are excited to be in has given them a motivational boost in their academic studies.
These items have already made a great impact on my students' engagement and interest in science, and this has extended to other subjects as well. This would not have been possible without your support, I truly cannot thank you enough!”

Funded May 5, 2021Thank you again for your generous contributions to our project "Let's Do Science!" Thanks to you, our classroom was able to purchase over a dozen different interactive, hands-on science kits. The kits were chosen by the students as topics or investigations they were interested in studying. They loved having some input in what we were learning, and were more engaged than ever when conducting the experiments.
Some of the highlights of this project included testing the water quality in our neighborhood and seeing weather factors in action. These reinforced concepts that were taught during the year. The students also got an introduction to some material they will experience next year, such as rocks and crystals. This has led to them being excited to return in the fall for 7th grade.
Once again, none of this could have been possible without your generous support. It has meant the world to my students and I, and has left a lasting impression on them about how much it means to help others out. Thank you again for making my students science experience a memorable one!”

Funded Jan 15, 2021I cannot thank you enough for your support in making my project "6th Grade 3D Doodlers Unite!" become a reality. My students were so excited when the boxes with the doodle pens arrived. They are incredibly grateful and appreciative that strangers would be kind enough to provide them with a fun and educational science tool that will let them learn while being creative.
So far, we have used the doodle pens to create 3D shapes and test out hand-eye coordination. We are now beginning a project to see who can design and build the strongest building foundation that will withstand hurricane force winds (tying in to both our energy and weather units this year).
It is truly a joy to see these students who have been stuck behind a computer screen for most of the last year become excited and animated about schoolwork again. They loved collaborating and manipulating the materials. There is no virtual simulation that can replace doing an experiment or activity yourself, and these supplies proved that. They learned and they had fun. It is a great way to end the year, and has left them excited for next fall (unlike last year when they were dreading it).
Once again, none of this could have been possible without your generous support. It has meant the world to my students and I, and has left a lasting impression on them about how much it means to help others out. Thank you again for making my students science experience a memorable one!”

Funded Nov 23, 2020Thank you for all your support in bringing our project "School Supplies for Scientists in Training" to life! Thanks to you, I was able to purchase an assortment of school supplies for my students. These supplies included: notepads, dry erase boards and markers, pencils, post-it notes, highlighters, graph paper, erasers, a carrying case and more! The students were thrilled when they received these supplies.
One common frustration among parents and students during this blended/remote period of learning has been the lack of non-digital work. The students have mentioned how much they miss using paper and pencil, and actually writing and drawing out their work. These supplies have made that possible again, and are especially appreciated as many of my students struggle to afford basic school supplies in a "normal" year.
They dry erase boards have allowed for in-class discussions and collaboration, as they can write and display their thoughts to the class. The markers and paper allow them to work out problems and solutions by hand, rather than struggling to express their thought process in a document online. They have been thriving now that they can brainstorm and organize their ideas in the way that best suits them, rather than through an inflexible digital format.
The response from both students and parents to these supplies has been overwhelmingly positive. They love having a sense of normalcy, and also having something of their own to help achieve their academic success.
These items have already made a great impact on my students' engagement and interest in science, and this has extended to other subjects as well. This would not have been possible without your support, I truly cannot thank you enough!”

Interactive Instruction in STEM!
Funded Sep 30, 2020Thank you again for your generous contributions to our project "Interactive Instruction in STEM"! Thanks to you, our classroom was able to purchase a new document camera as well as a handheld digital microscope. These items have opened up a world of possibilities for my students, both in person and remote.
The document camera has allowed students to observe laboratory demonstrations and make observations of items they do not have physically in front of them. It has also allowed them to see me complete the same work as them in real time. Since we have been working remotely for some time now, they have enjoyed seeing non-digital materials on their screens.
The handheld microscope has provided us with the opportunity to view everyday objects up close, in a manner that would not be possible otherwise while they are learning remotely. The students have especially enjoyed making observations about items I have collected from nature, such as leaves, soil and snow. They are fascinated at how complex even the simplest items are on a microscopic level!
These items have already made a great impact on my students' engagement and interest in science, an impact that will continue to grow once we are back together in the physical classroom. This would not have been possible without your support, I truly cannot thank you enough!”
