As a school counselor, I have noticed that our kids are in need of food, shelter, transportation, and additional resources. By providing these items to our students, I can meet my goal of providing fundamental needs. Due to students being home for a year, they are getting back in the routine of attending daily. Some of our students that walk are finding it hard to get here in the mornings. Some have expressed that they asked their parents for scooters in order to get here on time. Parents have expressed that money is low and they are not able to afford such items. As the weather is changing, I am finding that students don't have warm clothes to put on. Hoodies will help meet that need as well. Overall, our students need a safe and therapeutic environment and if my project is funded I can ensure this as well. I want our children to feel safe, secure, and supported while on our campus. I use the model "Never hesitate to ask for what you need". My students know they can come to me for anything.
