  • Center Time!

    Funded Dec 23, 2021

We would like to thank you so much for the supplies we received in class 205. The day the boxes arrived I could not wait to share it with my class. The children were so happy to open the boxes and see what we have received. It is not every day that you get a whole class surprise. As we went through all the boxes the children could not believe that we had received all these fantastic items. We unpacked right away and begun using them. It was amazing how all the items arrived just as we were running out of what we had. I had asked for tissues and paper towels to help with everyday self-help goals which were used immediately. The children were so happy to have these items.

We also began to use the other items. We work on our wipe off boards every day from phonics to math to learning, to write a sentence. With our new dry erase markers with erasers the children can get right to work. It is amazing how far they have come. We use are timer and plastic sheet covers daily in our centers for all subjects. All the items have really helped us to be able to be effective students and teachers.

Thank you again for your donation and support Class 205!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lanza

  • Headphones! Headphones! Headphones!

    Funded Mar 22, 2018

Thank you so much for funding my project. The children are so excited to use the headphones during math rotations. They are able to use the I-pad with the headphones and not disrupt the other children who are learning in other small groups or working independently. Headphones are very expensive and often the less expensive kind are very flimsy and break easily. The children were so happy to see that these headphones are very sturdy and they are easy to put on and store away when they are done with them.

The students love to use the headphones many times throughout the day and are able to work independently on reading and math activities within the classroom on the I-Pad or computer without interrupting the other children. Also being an ICT teacher we have many special education students in the class who may work for a break. They can easily get the Ipad and play a quick game or read a book on the iPad or computer.

All the children in the class have benefited daily from the donation of the headphones. We as a class are extremely happy and grateful to all that donated. Thank you”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lanza

The headphones will help in my class by allowing my students to have access to computer programs at all times during the day and not interfering with the other children who are learning. Our class is an ICT classroom with two teachers a general education teacher and a special education teacher as well as 32 children with a variety of learning styles. These headphones would help keep the noise level down as well as engage the students in meaningful activities. The students will be able to build upon their sight vocabulary, improve their listening skills and be exposed to a variety of story structures as well as work on math skills independently. While other children are learning in small groups. The donations will help improve my classroom by allowing my students to listen to math and phonics on the computer. Since I have many ELL students and many nonreaders, they will be able to learn new vocabulary and listen to good interpretive reading. Listening to audiobooks teaches critical listening skills, introduces new genres, and invites students to listen to books above their level. This also will help them in math as well to work and practice skills taught in the group to build on fluency.
