My students struggle to stay on task and/or stay seated. In the past, we have allowed some students to pace as they listen to class lectures. It is important that these students' learning environment is one that helps them stay on task and engaged in the learning process. These means movement, frequent breaks and changes in activity, and hands on learning experiences. Having a few standing desks would allow some students to stand as they take part in class activities. It is necessary for students who need movement and struggle to stay focused. By adding these desks to the classroom, we are able to meet more of our students' unique learning needs.
