Ever listen to music and wish you could play it? This is how my students are learning right now. They are listening to sounds that the instruments make, but are not able to make those sounds themselves yet. I would like the students to get hands-on experience with all the musical instruments they can.
We can't "put the band back together" if we haven't started one yet. With instruments, my students will be able to not only express themselves through music, but they will be able to create their own groups to perform music at our different functions after school. My students know how to turn on the radio and find what type of music they like; sometimes, they know all the words. But what if the same students could play their own music? That would be much more powerful for them.
There are a variety of students and no two students learn the same, so I would like a variety of instruments to get started for students to learn on.
