During open house, every year, I get the same question at least once, "I have a daughter in your class, what am I going to do, as her teacher, to help promote women in science and engineering."
Welcome. I am a Physics and AP Physics teacher in California. I teach in an under performing, impoverished school district at a Title 1 school (over 50% of our students qualify for the free and reduced lunch program). Our public school is predominantly minority students, specifically Hispanic and Asian, many of which did not grow up with English as their native language.
