These books will be so important to our students. I read 2-3 stories to my students as a group throughout a normal school day. Especially in first grade, we want students to make connections to the story they are being read. At Clark Elementary, our students are diverse, and we need to celebrate that. Students are more likely to make connections to a read aloud if they see themselves in the story. I want to make sure there is a book for every student to relate to. I want to make sure every student in my classroom is SEEN!
