  • Leaping Into Literacy!

    Because of your generous contribution, we were able to acquire the Leap Desk shown in our classroom photos. This item was on our wish list for a very long time. You have made it possible to finally have this wonderful resource in our room.

    Each day, along with Math, Science, Social Studies and Writer's Workshop, our class rotates three Guided Reading groups. During this time of individual instruction, it is critical that students not meeting with the teacher are engaged in exciting and meaningful activities. The Leap Desk is a perfect resource, because it allows students to work independently with minimal instructions, and also allows the teacher to monitor each student's progress.

  • Kindergarten Early Literacy Word Work

    This is just a small token of my gratitude for your generous donation to my classroom. As you can see in the photos, my students are enjoying the magnetic letters and boards. We use them nearly every day as part of our word work. It is amazing how children can notice patterns in words using manipulatives that they could not notice on printed text.
