My group of students are struggling readers. They are far below grade level. Using technology such as tablets will support them by building phonemic awareness skills by playing games to build phonics skills and reading books. They will have the opportunity to read books as well as hear books read to them and letter sounds for phonemic awareness. One website available for students is Reading A to Z, which allows students to strengthen phonics skills as well as practice with decodable text. Students must also have technical skills in order to be college and career ready. Using the tablets will support this crucial skill!
