This rug will help the students to become familiar with their personal space as well as others. I teach many lessons from the floor and organized personal space is crucial for attention and learning. The rug would help visualize personal space and give them a defined space which is helpful for first graders who are still developing boundaries. First grade is a time of learning both social and educational skills. A rug will help organize our classroom to help with these skills. Students will have their own space and I will have clear order when teaching students from the floor.
