I work in an inclusion classroom. I try to create learning experiences where students are able to use technology to learn the skills taught. I currently have 3 computers in the classroom. I would love to give them flexibility to move around and learn with the use of Chromebooks. The five Chromebooks I am requesting will allow my students the flexibility to move around and work at tables within groups to document their learning. Teaching in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students do not always have access to computers at home. I try to create a space where I can develop challenging experiences to build on students' learning, and technology is a great way to foster learning goals at a higher level. Through the use of Chromebooks and group activities, I can ensure a deeper understanding for my young learners and encourage them to embrace the learning process. My students are always trying their best even with their disabilities. They are learning how they can depend on themselves and their peers in a student-based learning environment in the classroom. At home, they do not always have access to computers although computer skills are valuable skills necessary for their educational development. I try to create a desire to learn and try to get my students to challenge themselves on a daily basis. I try to change the activities to reinforce our learning goals each day. Adding technology always brings a smile to their faces. I would love to have it incorporated further in the group activities in science, math, and reading.
