This classroom project was brought to life by Verizon and 2 other donors.Printing STEAM
Funded Nov 9, 2017I thank you for your donation and your effort on behalf of our students! This year, all students created STEAM science projects and were able to print out the project board materials and arrange their science boards. Seven students were chosen to go and represent NMB at the regional science fair and they did a great job with their science projects. All their science boards were acknowledged with either gold, silver, or bronze medals. One of the students, Neica Joseph, is a state finalist and received a special area award for her science board.
The process of registering students for the regional science fair required filling out lots of forms like Official Abstract, Research Plan, Methods and Procedures, Student Check List, Risk Assessment Form, Qualified Scientist Form, Approval Form, and Regulated Research Institutional Setting Form. All these forms were printed out for each student and mailed to the district with your printer donation.
The students truly appreciate the donation from Donors Choose. We are eager to see how our state finalist student will do since one of the requirements for the state competition is for all research materials to be printed and placed on a monster science board.
Another STEAM activity that we participated in was the Chemistry Poem Contest arranged by South Florida Section American Chemical Society. Students' poems were printed out and sent to SoFlacs for evaluation.”
