Help Equip ICT Students for Excellence!
Funded Aug 31, 2013Thank you, once again, for your contributions to our students! Our ICT students were thrilled and surprised to learn that there are people who are willing to invest in their learning without ever having the opportunity to know them. Students said they were excited about having a new mailbox and they were eager to check it for their mail. Others said it was nice to actually have larger glue sticks, so they can get gluing done faster. Many commented on the clip boards and ask to use them frequently when working in the meeting area of our classroom.
We are using the resources in a variety of ways. The clipboards are primarily used during small group instruction and partner activities when students are away from their desks and need a way to support their papers. They are used daily by different groups of students. The color pencils, glue sticks and construction papers are used during word work for sorting and gluing activities, as well as, art activities that are embedded into our global studies units. We utilized them when we made lanterns and other art work, during our Asia unit and masks and animals during our African unit, as well as anytime we needed a backing for our bulletin board ready work.
This project allowed us and our students to focus our attention on the learning process rather than on trying to gather the resources necessary to support this process. It has also supported both us and our students in creating an organized environment with tools accessible for students to utilize on a daily basis.
Thank you!! we could not have done this without your support.
Heartfelt thanks from my co-teacher, myself and our students!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Jones
