My project goal is for all students to have access to a tablet to use during math class. Students can use them in class to log on to specific websites that allow lessons I have created or have been shared on the internet. I have used a few lesson from nearpod.com that I have purchased in order to test the technology we currently have. Students tried using their phones (only about 5 out of 30) had one available, and a few borrowed iPads. Even though there were not enough to go around, the students shared and I have never seen them more excited in class. This made me even more excited about my job and being able to reach all of the students at once. I could tell that the students loved the class and that they would look forward to the next time that they got to use the technology. With a lack of supplies to be able to do this I was told about this wonderful website. To be able to have the students log in each day and watch lessons, submit answers, view each others' work, and show growth throughout the class is something that would really make the students grow at any level as an individual. The technology allows for all of the data to be stored and show areas of weakness and improvement. There are many other websites that use interactive software. Sometimes it can be hard to convince the kids that math can be fun! I incorporate lots of hands-on activities and educational games as well. The tablets would be used everyday for a warm-up in the classroom and about 90% of the other time. In a world where technology is flourishing, my students will be ready!
