No More Plastic! We Are Greening Our Job Skills
Funded Nov 23, 2018Thank you so much for the support and encouragement you gave us when you donated to our project. The silverware is here at our school. The students are already busy learning how clean and sanitize the silverware and stock the cafeteria for daily use. Our class has been keeping the silverware a secret from the rest of the school. We are looking forward to the big reveal. Having the silverware here, at our school has really energized my students to realize they can and are making a difference in their school, and the world! Sometimes our students get bogged down with all the things they struggle to do to keep up with fully able students. This project has shown them that they not only are keeping up - they are leading the way! For this, I am overwhelmingly grateful.
Thank you does not seem to cover the gratitude I feel. But those are the only words I have.
Thank you for making a difference in the lives of my students.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Luley
This classroom project was brought to life by An anonymous donor and 12 other donors.Books, Please!
Funded Oct 30, 2016We love our books! Having books that match the students ability and interests is a great gift. With the excitement that these new books bring, I will help them enjoy reading and increase their confidence in reading. Many of my students are reading at a very basic, pre-kinder reading level. Some of my students are reading at around the 5-6 grade level. Having leveled books that meet the needs of all my students will help them learn sequence of events, main idea and all about the characters in the story.
Reading in my class is messy, comfy, and constantly moving. We read books and magazines, we make words, and sentences. Sometimes we work with a partner, with the teacher, in a group and sometimes we work all by our self.
Students in everyone of my classes have been over the top with excitement for these new books. I really think the students who are the happiest about them are my lowest readers. Now I finally have books available to them that they can pick up and read all by themselves. Its a wonderful gift.”

Beat the Drum, Not Each Other!
Funded Nov 9, 2010Thank you all so much for your generous donations to Donor's Choose. As with many schools and districts, budget constraints make it difficult to support extracurricular activities. Your contributions to Donor's Choose have helped us to build a drum line for our students. We could no have done it without your help.
Afterschool programs are so important in helping students stay interested in school. Our drum line has enabled students from 6-8th grade learn a musical skill and discover talent they might never know they had.
Thank you for your support.”

Beat the drum, not each other!
Funded Sep 8, 2010Thank you so much for your generosity and your support. It has taken a while but we are now up and running with our Drum Line. It has been very exciting. The students have shown their enthusiasm as they looked forward to getting started. We will continue to procure more drums as the number of students wanting to join the drum-line far exceeds our current supply.
The students who have joined are students who needed to become more connected and successful at school. They are already showing improvement in behavior and attitude as they have a strong desire to remain on drum-line.
Thank you once again,

Hands on Reading
Funded Oct 13, 2010Thank you so much for your generosity. By funding my project, you have helped me make my reading lessons more interesting to the students. My middle school students are more interested in the reading lessons because I am able to capture their attention using the projector. It has been quite helpful to show video clips related to our topic the class prior to reading. This helps to build background information which helps the students understand the new information.
Your generous donation is helping students learn to read. It has been very exciting. Thank you once again.
Sincerely,
Miss L”
