  • Help Give These Students a High Five

    Funded Feb 17, 2022

We were funded. A special thanks to the state of Utah for supporting our students and providing this funding. I am excited for my students to get their new review books. I'm sure they will serve them well as they prepare to take the AP test in May. I'm excited.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Allred

  • TabLET Our Students Learn

    Funded Nov 15, 2016

I just wanted to take a quick minute to thank you for your generous donation to our classroom. The Ipad tablets that you purchased for our class have been, and will continue to be an excellent resource in our classroom. Just like our society is continuously increasing the use of technology in the home, so the demand for technology in schools increases as well. It is truly incredible the new opportunities we have because of the tablets.

The tablets have been a big help in our classroom. One thing we are able to do is have different centers set up around the room. This is something I've done before, but with the Ipads, it gives me the option to have some of those centers be interactive. Instead of a student just seeing a picture or reading an article, they can watch a movie or participate in one of the many interactive apps available on the Ipad. This makes learning more interesting for my students and in many ways more effective.

The Ipads are particularly helpful for students who either struggle with or dislike reading. Having a different mode by which they can learn content is extremely helpful. Obviously they still have to do their fair share of reading but the ability to switch it up every once in a while is beneficial. Thank you so much for your contribution.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Allred

Our school has put a great emphasis on technology. We aim to prepare our students with both the content and skills they will be needing in college and the workplace. Last year our classroom set of iPads were sold to assist in purchasing Chromebooks for our school. The Chromebooks are great but there are still several apps and functions that are only possible on the iPads. These two iPads will go a long way in student learning. Having this flexibility in our technology in our classroom will allow me to better support my student's learning in History. The iPad has several historical games and apps that can reteach and review content on an individual basis. They would benefit both the student who is struggling for understanding, and the student who would like to expand their understanding and continue learning.
