  • Science Fair Projects for All!

    Funded May 23, 2023

Thank you thank you! Students were so eager to complete their scientific process packets in order to participate in conducting their experiments. We explored how their science projects were unique, just like they were! Each student excitedly picked out a science experiment they were excited to conduct.

We shared the workload when it came to conducting experiments, helping one another with the set up and clean up. Once experiments were complete, students wrote science reports with data and graphs to demonstrate their experiment and results.

    Thank you for your generosity!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Fruchter

  • Code Our Way to New Opportunities!

    Funded Dec 5, 2022

Thank you thank you! We have loved every moment of getting to develop our digital skills through robot coding! Students have named their robots and have been motivated to write about their robots as well. We've found a variety of ways to cross curriculum with use of your donation.

In addition to clear academic benefit, we've also seen behavior improvement in our class as well. The robots of served as a motivational tool to encourage students to tackle more academically challenging periods of the day knowing that a fun activity was to come!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Fruchter

  • Hear Our Voices

    Funded Sep 29, 2022

You can't begin to imagine the impact of your donation to my classroom! Students are recording their stories, their voices, their ideas. Students are hearing their stories come to life and by hearing their own stories, they are sharing their stories. The iPad benefits students as they have the capability to both record voice memos, but they also have the ability to change voice to text. When students record their voice, it is changed into text.

Students are comfortable and familiar with apple products, their parents have iPhones, they've used iPads in our technology center, but this classroom iPad lives solely as a story capturer/recorder/translator. In addition to capturing student stories and student voice, iPad has an accessibility feature that reads text to you. Students are not shying away from challenging vocabulary and higher end language because they do not fear having to spell out these words.

But after all the recording and capturing the magic happens. Students listen to their stories and to one another's stories. They listen to each other's goals, ideas and plans for the future. You have created a class of story tellers and story listeners. You have created a class of students who value what each other has gone through, is going through and will go through and for that, we truly thank you.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Fruchter

  • Read, Read, Baby!

    Funded Nov 9, 2021

Would you believe me if I told you every single student in my class has grown at least a year and a half in only half a year of school? Thank you for your generosity and thoughtfulness through this reading journey! Having access to new, interesting, exciting books has made such a difference.

We started this year with three students unable to read. Despite being in 3rd grade, they had never developed the skills or tools to put sounds together and words together into sentences to read books. Your donation created a class library that enticed them and excited them to open a book. I taught them the skills but you gave them the tools. We can't thank you enough!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Fruchter

These students are eager to learn, but as non readers in middle to late elementary school, they don't want to be treated as Kindergarteners. Finding books of interest and appropriateness can be tricky, but can be done! I’ve got varied reading levels from Kindergarten up to 4th grade and so a mix of books is necessary to their reading progress. While we have a variety of books already the books are old, yellowed and smell. It’s tough to convey a love for reading when the books are hard to love! I'd love your support in helping me build a library for my high interest/low level learners!
