I am in need of a listening center for my first grade classroom. A listening center and listening library promotes and enhances phonics skills which children need to become better readers and writers. They use these phonics skills to decode words when reading and put words together when writing. It also helps children track the words they are reading which develops their fine motor skills and builds comprehension. We would use this center everyday with up to 8 children during reading time! Not only would I be able to use it during reading time, but I could tie it into other parts of the curriculum such as math and science. It would be a very valuable asset to have in our classroom!
