Throughout the year we read novels as a class, to help enhance the students' reading comprehension. This year we are reading two new novels, The Lightning Thief and Wonder. It is important for each student to have their own copy of these text as we read. Integrating rich literature and social studies. The Lightning Thief engages and captivates young minds, as well as integrates with our Ancient Greece Civilization unit. Our second novel, Wonder, helps our sixth graders prepare for social challenges they may face throughout middle school by teaching them to be kind and stand up for others. Successful readers are prepared to excel in future educational pursuits.
