The materials in this project would go towards helping my kindergarten class be able to interact with lessons in a new and exciting way. The iPad would allow me to not be tied to a doc cam at the front of the room but able to move about and interact with the students. The projector would be amazing as I have several little ones who have some issues with eye sight and the current projector we have is just too dim and fuzzy to be an effective tool. The less effort on their part to focus on an image, the better. Currently I do not have a smart board but even if I did where it would need to be mounted is too high for my little ones to reach, this is where the iPad becomes a majorly effective tool. Being able to take the iPad straight to the little ones and have them interact with the touch screen and have it show up on the screen is easier for them and allows me to be mobile. I would also love to be able to incorporate more digital lessons into my curriculum but my technology right now is just too inadequate. I would also be able to use the iPad to help my little ones with special needs and English Language Learners by way of using apps designed just for them. Our school takes part in the Imagine Learning program which is an awesome tool for any struggling reader and is available for free as an app for the iPad.
