Children with Autism thrive with sensory activities. Three major benefits of a sensory table with children on the spectrum are language, fine motor skills, and it is calming for them. I have children that like the feel on their hands, like the vertical drop of picking things up and watching them fall, rolling things in their hands, etc. A sensory table would provide appropriate ways for my students to fulfill these needs. Research shows that sensory tables can greatly improve the learning process in Autistic children and it allows them to show their creativity. It helps to keep them engaged and excited about learning and exploring. I would love to add this sensory table to help my children excel and be the best that they can be.
