Wellness on Wheels!

Help me give my students an opportunity to be engaged in Mental Health activities outside of our Wellness center. The mobile dry-erase board will allow our Wellness Peers to lead activities in the main quad area.

  • Make Wellness Fun: Donate for Popcorn & Cotton Candy!

    Thank you so much for your contribution to this project. We have been able to add treats to our lunch time tabling events. Most recently during one of our events students were invited to write encouraging messages . After doing so, were rewarded with some popcorn.

    Students are very appreciative of the small gesture. This also has increased our participation numbers . Small treats are an added incentive while sharing a mental health tip and/ or while introducing a positive coping strategy.

  • Let's Play a Board Game!

    Thank you so much for contributing to this project. My Students enjoy coming in on Tuesdays and Thursdays during their lunch period to play board games. My students were so excited to see the new board games on the shelf. They were excited to see a variety of not only board games but card games too. Some students have set up some friendly game competitions by coordinating a Connect Four challenge. It is so nice to be able to offer another alternative during recess for those students who enjoy being inside and love a good board game session.

  • Eagles are "Hooping" it up!

    We had a fabulous Basketball season! Our players enjoyed using our new equipment. They were so excited to see the new ball cart, and the new basketballs.

    Being able to have enough equipment really helped us practice all the required basketball skills. The girls were excited to use their new practice shirts, and their new basketballs.

    Our school will continue to enjoy using all the new equipment especially the new backboards, and rims.

    We cant thank you all enough. Being able to have the needed equipment allows us to have sports teams at our school site.

  • Learning to be Kind one book at a time!

    My students were so excited to receive the book Wonder! Our goal was to begin a book club which would meet weekly, and then take a field trip to see the movie Wonder.

    There were 20+ students who participated weekly. We met 1-2 times a week. As a group we read the book together. We were able to have meaningful discussions around this book. The book helped us talk about so many important topics; empathy, kindness, bullying, self expression, and most importantly plant seeds on how to spread kindness.

    Once we finished the book the group took a walking field trip to our nearest movie theater to see the movie Wonder. This was a great way to end our book club.

  • Peace Garden

    We love our benches! Our garden is coming along nicely! We were able to paint our benches a bright yellow. We began painting rocks to add to our garden area. Students are very excited about this area. We have our student leadership working on adding more to our garden area.

    We will continue to add flowers,and painted racks from all of our classrooms. The students enjoy reading the positive affirmations noted on the rocks. Students will be able to come to our garden area through-out the school day. This will be a great calming place for our students!
