TIME for Chromebooks in Our Inclusive Classroom Based on Howard Gardner’s theory of Multiple Intelligences, we need to foster a broader range of human potential in children (and adults). Each year I carry out an inventory with my students to identify the learning styles within our classroom. I’ve found that there is no overarching learning style, but that the majority of my students find themselves to be more engaged when technology is present and reading is based on expository text in which they have greater background knowledge. Chromebooks are a great resource that my students will be able to use during small group instruction. My students with an ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) will have access to interactive components of our language arts and math lessons as they’re taught in a whole group setting. Providing more technology to my students allows me to increase the individualized resources I use which are typically adaptive to their needs. I truly feel that providing access to additional technology and texts will foster cohesiveness in our inclusive classroom.
