  • iPads for iNdependent Learning

    Funded Oct 30, 2017

Thank you so much for your contributions! My students have been able to learn so much this year because of the technology you provided! In a full inclusion setting, students with moderate-severe disabilities often work on activities that are modified to their ability level. Access to more iPad for my full-inclusion program has allowed me to provide age-appropriate activities that are at their level, promoting independence during independent work times, and engaging instructional activities that are accessible in a discreet way. My students are the most excited about the increased access to these activities they have now that there are more iPads to share. It has also allowed me to collaborate with the Assistive Technology specialist to incorporate the iPads as tools for writing and reading.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Kropp

  • iNcluding iPads in our iNclusive Classrooms

    Funded Oct 17, 2016

Thank you so much for contributing to the academic successes of my students. The reams of multi-colored paper has allowed us to create many materials to assist our students throughout the school day such as visual schedules, token boards, break tools, and many more!

The iPad is my students' favorite product and helps me to modify their curriculum during specialized academic instruction. Because of your generosity, I was able to obtain a one-year subscription for a Math Fact Fluency app that has greatly increased the accuracy and speed of their math facts. Using the iPad during instructions time has increased the level of engagement and motivation of my students. I have also purchased a writing app to assist with students who have difficulty with fine motor skills. The iPad allows them to express themselves in an alternative written form.

The Flip Mino video camera is my favorite product as it allows me to collect visual data and have awesome progress clips to share at my students' IEPs. My families are able to see their students successes and it has helped my strengthen my relationships with them. I am so grateful for the opportunities for academic growth and success these products have provided!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Kropp

In a full-inclusion setting, whenever possible, specialized academic instruction is provided to students with IEP's within the general education setting. Often times, this involves working with students using resources and materials that are not common in their classroom or at their grade level. By including iPads in our inclusive classrooms, my students will be able to discretely work on modified work, out of grade-level curriculum, and IEP goals in the general education classroom in a non-stigmatizing way. iPads will also allow my students to access the general education curriculum, participate in a variety of content areas throughout the day, develop their academic and self-confidence, and assist in facilitation of peer-to-peer interactions! The Flip Mino video camera is the perfect size for me to carry from class to class to capture candid moments shared between classmates and record live data to play for the IEP team during their student-led IEP meetings! Students try their best when I tell them I am recording a short clip on my cell phone and beam with pride when they watch, and re-watch their hard work. I look forward to being able to record longer clips of students reading books, their written works, and social interactions. Peer video modeling is a powerful learning tool and the iPads will allow the students to watch their peers modeling classroom rules, procedures, and social skills previously recorded by the Flip Mino video camera. I am hoping Chevron will Fuel my School to help level the learning field for my students and provide them the opportunity to share their academic and social successes outside of the classroom.
