Learning in Different Ways!
Funded Nov 29, 2023This project has supported teamwork and cooperation for my students during morning arrival.
My students enjoy using the new resources every morning. The resources assist and support in classroom cooperation and team building.
My students were very excited when they saw the materials being unpacked. We're in the process of connecting with our emotions using the Emotional puzzle cards received. The items received will truly be a rewarding opportunity for years to come. I am truly appreciative of the help.”

Funded Sep 11, 2023My students were so excited to see and sit on the carpet. Each student immediately self-selected their seat shape. They were extremely excited and grateful to see our vibrant new carpet. Several students began recalling the shapes by name. Many students enjoyed feeling the texture of the carpet (as they rubbed their hands along the carpet. Next steps, would be to continue work on spatial relationships. As well as utilizing the carpet to relax & read. We truly appreciate you funding this project!”

Funded Sep 2, 2022Funding this project gave my students the opportunity to have hands on daily experiences with the "Circle Time" tactile letters, rhyming, calendar time(identifying the weather as well as dressing for the weather), identifying shapes and colors activities. The "Math Center" mat helped my students get an early introduction to place value, problem solving with word problems using every day scenarios. My students couldn't wait to open the boxes and begin another learning adventure. All students wanted to take a spin with the weather wheel, trace the letters made out of sand paper. These activities will have repeated use for many years to come!”

Funded Mar 23, 2022Thank you very much for contributing to this project. The "charging tower" has helped all of my students' chromebooks stay charged throughout the day. We no longer have to worry about thr chromebooks running out of battery life or scrambling to find or share an outlet in the classroom.
My students were extremely curious when the charging tower arrived. They had lots of questions and were eager to begin using it. Each student, now monitors their battery life and are eager to charge their devices up using the tower.
All of my students have equally warmed up to the charging tower. They each have an opportunity during the day to "plug, play, learn and have fun".”

Comfortable Seats and Writing Boards While Virtually Learning at Home!
Funded May 24, 2021We are forever grateful to you for supporting this project. My students use the new resources during in-person learning. The items didn't arrive in time for virtual learning. Due to COVID all classroom carpets were removed causing students to remain at their seats throughout the day. Thanks to one donor's generosity, students were given the opportunity to sit in front of the Smartboard on the comfy seats rather than sitting on a cold tile floor. The comfy seats are so conveniently cool! The students were so excited because they hadn't seen a "comfy seat" before; not to mention being the only class in the entire school to have "comfy seats" is even cooler!”

Funded Jan 20, 2021First, I would like to say thank you so much for supporting this project idea. The books selected for this project were selected with my students independent reading level in mind and an additional book set was selected above their reading level to enhance and strengthen the student's reading ability (to gently push and encourage them to the next reading level). The selected texts did not have instructional teaching points included. However, the students could use the text to develop and/or practice a myriad of comprehension strategies. For example, story retelling; identifying the author's purpose, make text connections, etc.
We are still learning virtually. Due to COVID, students would not be allowed to physically touch any books in the classroom. All of them enjoyed having new books to read and start their own personal library.”

Funded Dec 10, 2020My students are using the new resources that were provided at home only. When a directive is given for them to get their "magic boards" or their dry erase boards I see them swiftly leave their virtual learning spot to go retrieve the item. Not one time has a student said "I can't find it". The students have really taken the time to make sure that their materials are kept in a safe place each day. So much time has been saved for meaningful activities since receiving the items for this project.
My students and their families were so thankful and appreciative of your generosity. The students eagerly awaited my arrival to receive their materials.
The next steps are concurrent teaching, the students attend school in person two days per week and learn virtually for three days. Students will still use the provided materials while working at home virtually. There may be an opportunity for students to bring their magic boards into the classroom.”

Funded Dec 1, 2020We have benefitted so much from the provide resources. We are both able to use the class size dry erase board to model specific task across all content areas. My students no longer have to worry about finding paper and a pencil because they graciously received dry erase boards and an attachable marker. Soo much instructional time has been gained from the students not having to go on a hunt to locate paper and pencil. Both students and their parents were overjoyed and grateful to receive the items. I cannot thank you enough for your support.”

Funded Oct 8, 2018The funding of this project has been a rewarding opportunity for both myself and my students. As the ONLY class in the entire school to be able to utilize the non-fiction content presented in the weekly articles as well as via technology was very exciting. The students, at first were apprehensive; but bursting with excitement all at the same time. The students were able to demonstrate their knowledge of non-fiction text features using the weekly articles. For example, the students were able to use highlighters to highlight bold printed text as well as use the article to support the evidence of their answers (when responding to the short answer extension activities). The students also enjoyed the interactive games that accompanied the interactive component of the subscription. The funding of this project has afforded the students the chance to utilize the 5Cs (Critical Thinking, Collaborating, Creating, Connecting and Communicating). On behalf of my second grade class, I would like to express our sincere appreciation and gratitude to all who voluntarily participated in helping to bring this project to a reality. We are forever grateful to each of you!”

Carpet Squares are So Square!
Funded Nov 29, 2016On behalf of my second grade class I would like to say thank you very much. Your willingness and generosity to help others in need is truly appreciated. When my students arrived the following day after seeing the carpet delivered; their faces beamed with delight and excitement. They work as a team to ensure that the carpet is taken care of! Our traditional sharpener fell off the wall and a month or so later our mini electric pencil sharpener ceased to sharpen. Thank goodness our project was funded because we now have a larger and faster electric pencil sharpener to use. The students were amazed to see how fast their pencils were being sharpened. Now, my students look forward to keeping up with their pencils so that they can sharpen them. I have observed a few students enjoying sharpening their pencils so much that they break the point just to have a chance to resharpen their pencils again! The students made a prediction about the read aloud purchased with the funds. To our surprise, the story was more about being empathetic towards others as opposed to eating spaghetti on a hotdog bun. The story selection fit perfectly in helping us continue to build a positive classroom environment. Since receiving the items my students have a renewed sense and desire to learn. We will continue to use both the pencil sharpener and the carpet throughout the day and during all subject areas.”

Ms. Allen
