Spread Kindness Not Hate
Funded Mar 5, 2024My 7th grade students and I are so appreciative for your donations and support of our project, "Spread kindness Not Hate." The chart papers, markers, copy paper and colored paper were utilized in making posters and flyers to spread positive messages. Students bullying has become a problem at the school.
As students walk the hallways or enter the building they can see positive messages that brighten their day. For example: " Bee Kind," "Spread Kindness Because One Kind Word Can Make a Difference," and "Spread Kindness Because You Never Know Who Needs It." Additionally, students were able to printed and design small positive notes to encourage their classmates.
This project produced collaboration and empathy from my students. They were able to feel like they were making a difference in their school and community.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Suarez
This classroom project was brought to life by The Allstate Foundation.Let's Document Together!
Funded Dec 9, 2023I want to extend my appreciation for your donation to our classroom document camera, copy paper and markers. It has made an impact on my ability to project editing, writing and reading annotations for my students. Students are also able to immediately, showcase their work by projecting it with the camera on our promethean board.
Students are using the document camera to show how they complete a close reading of a text without having to go through the steps of scanning and uploading their annotations. This has encouraged more participation and classwork completion. We have been able to make copies of various assignments with the additional paper and the students use the dry erase markers to create symbols and markings on their documents or board.
This project has been very successful with all my students, especially my lower performing pupils by giving them more hands-on and immediate feedback. We will continue implementing new ways to use these tools.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Suarez
Surfing Our Way Towards Knowledge
Funded Oct 22, 2016Before your donation, my classroom had no computers for students to use; therefore, students would not have immediate access to information. They would need to go to the library to use computers and waste time. With the four new Chrome computers, students now have instant access to research. They have been using the computers to work on their mythology projects in small groups by creating presentations, typing up their vocabulary lists and their summaries of stories. In addition, any student(s) that does not have access to a computer at home can come before school to use the laptops to complete their assignment or online remediation program called IREADY. Students have taken ownership and great care of the computers because they know that they were donated by people that want to make a difference in our classroom. We are very grateful to everyone for their generous donations which has positively impacted our classroom.”
