A Notebook and Pencil Can Go a Long Way!
Funded Jun 26, 2023I am truly thankful for your thoughtful donations to my classroom and my students. The notebooks have been distributed to students who after a couple of weeks of school, had not yet purchased a notebook for math class. The dry-erase markers are used on a daily basis to write on the white board. Students particularly love to come up to the board; I tell them to choose whatever color marker they want to write the answer with. They love it even more so now that they have more colors to choose from, thanks to you.
The students' reaction when I opened the box with the materials was priceless! It was like opening holiday presents. Their eyes lit up and their smile widened. They kept asking: is this for us? For real? They were very happy.
Once again, thank you very much.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Miranda

Funded Oct 23, 2019I am so thankful to all the donors who contributed to our project. I know all our students will benefit from holding a calculator, as opposed to just having it available online. Having a calculator they can hold will improve their self confidence, especially during Florida State Assessments. Thank you very much! :)”

Funded Nov 28, 2016Thank you very much for your kind donation. Our students have had amazing and fun learning experiences using technology in the classroom. Most of our students come from homes where they do not have access to a computer or cannot afford Internet services. The use of laptops and internet availability offers our students different learning pathways. Students find the use of technology in the classroom to be motivating and exciting.
Our new scanner has enabled us to digitize students' work. We are now able to display students' work on a digital platform. Students can access scanned images from a laptop, view, analyze, interpret, critique, and provide feedback. Using digital images allows for student privacy; students can view the images without knowing who's work it is. The scanner has also helped us to transmit workbook images. Many times we do not have access to a copy maker or have enough workbook copies for every child in the class. Scanning workbook images allows us to cut back on paper and still be able to provide each student with a digital image of the work.
Visual and kinesthetic learners have greatly benefited from the use of technology in the classroom. The use of digital images allows students to manipulate (zoom, rotate, dilate, etc.) geometric shapes making learning easier and more effective. We are all truly grateful for your donation to our class.”
