  • Let's Go Lego!

    Funded May 19, 2024

Thank you so much for your generosity and kindness! My first graders will be thrilled to have these supplies to build and create!

I love being able to allow them time to be creative! They need so much more of this than the curriculum allows.

Thank you for this awesome opportunity!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Sergeant

  • STEM Attack!

    Funded Feb 22, 2024

Thank you so much for your generosity and kindness. My students love these new additions to out "free time". I use Stem activities to motivate behavior. The children think its free time but they are practicing engineering skills at the same time.

People like you have made my classroom a magical place. The children love the living and non living opportunities available in our room. Because of you my class room is a place the entire school loves to visit.

Thank you again for your support of public education!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Sergeant

  • Plant Life!

    Funded Feb 22, 2024

My goodness! My students have loved planting seeds and watching them grow. We first planted sunflower seeds to see how a plant grows from a seed. Then we planted other seeds to see where food comes from. We still have plants growing in our classroom. The children love coming in each today to water and check on the growth of their seed.

Now we are getting ready for mother's day and the children painted pots to put their seedlings in.

Thank you so much for your generosity and kindness. My students thrive because of people like you!”

  • Art for the Heart!

    Funded Feb 21, 2024

Thank you for your generous donation. My students are very creative and love to make things. We often do not have great art supplies at my school, so this grant really helps me add to the curriculum.

When we were studying the sun. moon, and sky my students were able to create models as well as paint sunsets to help their understanding of these concepts.

Now, we are researching birds and their attributes. They were able to make birds as well as sketch them and label the body parts.

Your kindness has allowed my students to explore art with the curriculum!”

  • Living Science

    Funded Jan 21, 2024

Thank you so much for your generosity! My students are so excited about these critters we get to watch hatch and care for.

Because we live in Michigan we cannot start ordering the live components to these kits. It is still too cold for butterflies and tadpoles. However, they are really enjoying the books and looking forward to when we can actually watch these creatures form before our eyes.

Your kindness has allowed these children to have something to investigate as they wait for spring. Thank you again for helping me add some fun to our curriculum!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Sergeant

  • Learning with Style

    Funded Dec 28, 2023

Thank you so much for your kindness! My sweet first graders love their new rugs! They fight over who gets to sit where so I had to make a rug seating chart!

Thanks to you and your generosity my students have a clean rug to sit on during group time, etc. This is so important! They cannot sit in their desks all day long.

We use the rugs for morning meeting time, small group instruction, and their favorite: Kahoot time!

Kahoot is a computer game that reinforces concepts learned in class and they love to play! Thank you again for helping me create a wonderful learning space!”

  • Warm Hearts

    Funded Nov 17, 2023

Thank you so very much! Your generosity and kindness has made 28 little people ecstatic! They cannot wait to go outside and play in the snow, which it finally has here in the north.

I think it so important for children to get outside as much as possible, regardless of the weather. Now they have gloves and hats so we can have recess even in the winter.

I do make them keep these hats and gloves at school so they do not get lost at home.

Your donation has given these darling first graders more recess time which is probably their favorite part of the day!”

  • SGI For The Win!

    Funded Nov 4, 2023

Thank you again for your kindness and generosity. My class is finally coming together, we have a great routine and I have seen a lot of progress already.

Thanks to you I have some new accessories to make small group time more fun and inviting. They absolutely love the Pop It game! They have to read a sight word correctly and then pop the number of places that they have rolled on a die. It is a class favorite.

There is also the math Pop its that help my struggling with counting and number recognition.

I cannot thank you enough for all your support!”

  • Cooking with Class

    Funded Nov 7, 2023

Thank you so much your kindness and generosity. My students were so excited when the toaster oven and microwave arrived.

Tomorrow we are making stone soup as part of a literature project. The children are bringing in vegetables to add to the pot.

Next month, thanks to you we can make Christmas cookies using the toaster oven. I usually have to cook the cookies at home.

My students do not what I consider regular experiences at home. I hope to help bridge the gap by giving them activities that my own children have had in school.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Sergeant

My classroom is alive with animals and child friendly touchy-feely opportunity. Our newest addition is our saltwater aquarium. We are learning how to manage an ecosystem they may never see. We are helping our planet by recycling and hopefully creating a new awareness of taking care of the earth.
