  • All We Want Is A Magnetic Whiteboard!

    Funded Jan 22, 2014

    My kids were so excited to receive our magnetic white board. They are now able to work on math using magnetic 10 frames, keeping track of how many days in each month. They now have easy access to the 10 frames to help them with counting on and working on ways to make different numbers. We were also able to attach our math rack which helps them visualize numbers and work on addition and subtraction. I am now able to use these manipulatives to explain lessons and model them so the students can see. We are really excited about the hands on learning that is taking place, and there is nothing more fun than watching the kids write on the white board and practice their expanding math skills.

  • Shapes, Shapes Shapes!

    When I showed the kids the magnatiles that we received they cheered. They were so excited and surprised! Every afternoon they ask if they can use them. They are so busy building and creating, it is really a wonderful sight to see. They are working on math skills, creating shapes and discussing them, but also they are learning to work together, negotiate and share. My favorite afternoon was after we read Hansel and Gretel and they decided as a group to build the candy house that was from the story. Your generosity is greatly appreciated. Thank you.”

  • Now This is Hands on Learning!

With your support we are able to have the supplies we need in order to complete our class projects. The students have been cutting away with the scissors, and we have been working on some writing lessons that they are going to publish and share with our new easel.   • What's Sticking

    Thank you for your generous donation. You were able to help supply our class with the glue sticks we need for our class to complete many, many projects. There is nothing worse than having the wrong materials and your generosity provided our classroom with glue sticks that will keep us "sticking" for the next few months.

  • Write it and Hide it!

    We are so thankful for your donation to Room 1. The dry erase markers you donated to our room help the students every day. We use them to sound out words and practice our phonics skills. Learning to decode words and recognize sounds is such an important skill and now we don't have to worry about running out of markers. They help make learning how to read so much fun!

    Your donation also helped provided our class with new crayons and colored pencils. These supplies are so important in a Kindergarten classroom and we are so appreciative of your generosity.”
