Today, there are many technologies that allow students to activate their reading capabilities, but we often forget how important having a physical medium is to our multi-sensory needs. When we physically possess something, it means more to us and we, in turn, take more pride in its content. These magazines allow students to own their work and write their thoughts and ideas directly on the relevant text. I remember as a young student, receiving a Scholastic News magazine and eagerly looking through the pages and articles. These materials entertain, engage, and encourage our students to actively participate in the learning process.
