In my class I have a couple chess sets that my students use constantly. They ask me a couple times a week, every week, if our school could have a chess club so they could play more. So I am now in the process of starting a chess club at our school. I would also like to have chess boards available for students to use during their recess. Chess is a great game for all students. It is a game that helps build sportsmanship, improves memory, helps students with critical thinking skills and mathematical problem solving. All of which are greatly needed after being at home for a year and a half in quarantine during our nations Covid-19 crisis. I feel students need some time away from technology to recharge their brains and chess is a game that will do that
