The large carpet will be placed in the front of the classroom and used as a gathering place for mini-lessons and sharing. My students will have a clean and warm space to sit on every time we meet for whole class instruction. My students will be able to focus on the lesson being taught instead of worrying about dirtying their clothes from sitting on a cold tiled floor. Also the rug will help build a sense of community and learn about respecting body space. The chart paper will be used during mini-lessons to create anchor charts that students can refer to to reinforce what they’ve learned. The printer will be used to create differentiated lessons/ activities for literacy and math stations.
