Living This Way- Our Visions for Success
Funded Nov 16, 2017"First, THANK YOU for your support of this project. What a fun way of letting us explore our strengths and weaknesses. We enjoyed being able to learn about ourselves in a way that we don't get to do very often in school."

"The supplies that we have used so far are the paint markers and paint, the canvas board, and the book. We did some background building before moving on to making our statement boards. It was neat to see how everyone created their boards differently."
-Conner
"I haven't ever gotten to do a project like this in school. We are usually doing school things and getting our work done so being able to do a project like this was fun. I liked being able to brainstorm and journal about myself and what I'm good at. I hope Miss Ammirante lets us do another one of these before the end of the 9 weeks."
-Cody
Let me express my sincere gratitude for your support of my classroom project. I actually joined in on a lot of these activities and did them with the students. They really enjoyed seeing me learning about myself, as I enjoyed also watching them learn about themselves. I hope you understand just how appreciative we are of your support!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Ammirante

Funded Nov 14, 2017Allow me to take another opportunity to express my gratitude and appreciation for your generous donation to our project. Each student was so excited to be able to collaborate and brainstorm to come up with the idea of this activity, and it has been a true joy to watch it grow.
With the purchase of the instant camera, as well as the photo printer, we were able to let the students capture an image of themselves that really shows their true personalities. With the guidance of the book, they did a few self-discovery activities and then jumped right into their "selfie-taking." What a fun few days getting to watch them smile and laugh and learn to appreciate so many more things about themselves than they had prior.
I don't think donors truly understand the direct impact they have on students- especially in a low socio-economic school such as ours. We are able to offer such extensive technology to students who may not see it otherwise. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your contribution to our classroom!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Ammirante

Funded Aug 17, 2017Thank you so much for your contribution to my project. What a generous gesture that was so much appreciated and has already helped me do so many different things within our Life Skills class.
The three books purchased all focus on a central theme- dealing with being a teenage in today's world. Just in the last 5 years, I have seen such a dramatic increase in teen stress, anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues. Students are not coming to middle school and leaving for high school equipped with the necessary coping skills to deal with things that occur during this time period of their lives. This is why I chose the three specific books I did.
We were able to do several unique activities that enables students to better equip themselves with coping strategies necessary to survive and thrive in the world today. The books provided great discussion-starters, which inadvertently ended up being every student's favorite part of the nine weeks class. Thank you again for your support- because of you, nearly 100 students each year will be educated on some of the most prevalent issues they deal with today!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Ammirante
