St. L, Here We Come!
Funded Mar 6, 2013You all are incredible. Your donations made it possible for another of our students to take a trip to St. Louis!
Our students don't know yet about this opportunity, and we cannot wait to tell them! All students interested will be submitting applications and essays, which is another valuable skill for them in thinking about their future college applications. They will also gain background knowledge of what it's like to travel out of state, which is something many of them have never experienced.
We are so appreciative of your generosity. You gave these students an amazing opportunity!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Croft

Hands-On Math
Funded Sep 2, 2012Thank you so much for your donation to our classroom for the purchase of math manipulatives. We have already used them to learn about place value and are now using the manipulatives to learn division concepts. As a teacher, these are concepts that I struggle to teach because they are typically too abstract for students to understand without actually seeing it.
Students are especially in love with the snap cubes! They are really able to understand division by putting them all together before breaking them up into groups of a certain number. These, in conjunction with the place value blocks have greatly increased my students' number sense.
We are all so grateful for donors like you who make it possible for us to have these incredible learning tools.”

Funded Jun 11, 2012Thank you so much for your donation to our classroom for the purchase of headphones for our iPads. Students enjoy using the iPads, which helps them become more engaged with their learning while practicing the ever-important 21st century skills they will need to be successful in their careers. The headphones have also given me the opportunity to provide more individualized instruction for my students. Many of them enjoy working at their own pace on different tasks, which simply would not be possible without the headphones you helped provide. This is truly an exciting thing to see in my classroom and I am anxious to see the longer-term benefits this individualized instruction will have for my students. We are infinitely grateful for donors like you who help to make our classrooms great places to learn and teach. We truly appreciate your generosity.”

Using iPads in our classroom has allowed the students to become much more engaged in their learning and to begin practicing those 21st century skills they will need to be successful in school and careers.
The headphones also allow us to provide more individualized instruction for the students. Many of them enjoy working at their own pace on different activities, which simply would not be possible without the headphones you helped provide.
