This year our school system is promoting more use of scientific investigation in the classrooms. My class will have about 25 students and more than 20% of them will be English Language Learners. In order to help the non-English speaking students, I want to be able to show them the concepts of problem solving, simple machines, force and motion, trial and error in a way that will not need words. My hope is that the universal language of play will resonate with these children and they will discover science through examination and investigation.
