Funded May 8, 2022I'm beyond grateful for your donations! My students will continue learning over the summer due to your generous donations. Most of the materials will be used to complete STEM investigations and activities. Students will create sticker stories with the stickers, predict/explore which direction the wind is blowing by using the pinwheel and creating the tallest sandcastle using the buckets and shovels. Last but not least, using the ball to explore a variety of push and pulls as the further their learning in Force and Motion. My students were super excited when they received their gifts and learned about their summer challenges. Their eyes beamed and I won't ever forget those smiles! I know that I wouldn't have been able to do this without your kindness and generosity! Again Thank you!”

Funded Dec 24, 2021Thank you so much for your donation! These materials have impacted my classroom greatly. The folders, pencil cases and pencils have allowed my students to be more organized; which allows for more time for them to complete their learning tasks. Utilizing these materials are assisting with teaching both independence and organizational skills. The students love to showcase responsibility which is a part of Hefferan's school motto. Last but not least, the headphones are a lifesaver! No really, it has helped the students tremendously with focusing more on their tasks without disrupting their peers. I've seen my students more engaged and focused on their assignments since having headphones. These materials have helped my students grow both socially and academically which allows me to focus more on what I love best and that's TEACHING! Once again, we appreciate you and value the investment you have imparted to us.”

Funded Dec 31, 2016Teaching Kindergarten has been so rewarding! Kindergarten is very hands on and using games and manipulatives are often use to help my students learn. Because of your donations, I have seen my students' behavior, classroom management/engagement and academics improve tremendously. When my class saw the new learning materials they eyes were gleaming and they had huge smiles on their faces! I introduced the games as a fun way to learn during their center time. During center time, students self-select activities (like sight words, counting, adding, phonics, etc) they want to work on while I'm teaching guided reading with a small group of students. I noticed my students are more engaged and focus more on the learning sight words or counting when utilizing the games. My future plans are for my students to independently lead and facilitate during center time. For example, I'm been appointing group leaders who can teach other students how to use the games correctly to enhance their learning. Students are currently learning addition and subtraction in math. Well we have only used the Addition Bingo as a whole group activity. I'm looking forward to having that game added to Center time so that students can continue to learn more about adding independently. Thanks again for your kindness and generosity it is greatly appreciated!”
