My students are in a traditionally underserved population and often have gaps in their math education before they reach me. Many of them also have special challenges learning math in a meaningful way.
By laminating materials that they can share and manipulate, I can give them an effective way to process concepts that are sometimes hard to visualize. They like to have the cards and posters in their hands, as well as annotate on them with white board erasers.
Having a laminator will ensure that the materials (cardstock, color ink, etc.) will last beyond a single lesson and can be reused for review as well. I also put a lot of their work on the walls and I can use these resources to preserve their work.
