  • Morning Tubs for Transitions.

    Funded Jan 30, 2017

I would like to thank you so much for your generous gift to my students.

My students were so happy to get new games to work with. The first thing they said was "when can we play with the stuff". They love even more doing the morning work tubs .

These games gives my students fun ways to practice different skills such as rhyming, beginning, middle and ending sounds as well as alphabet matching.

The math mats with spinners can be used with different manipulatives beside the ones that came with the games, so I can use them with different themes.

I can differentiate for each of my students by helping them choose the games that will meet their educational needs.

My students are even more eager to work hard and enjoy coming to school by having a fun and exciting way to practice these objectives . These resources start the morning on a happy note.

Thank you again for your donation, these activities will help my student have a very positive attitude towards math and reading.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Weeks

  • An Apple A Day for Pre-K

    Funded Mar 28, 2016

I would like to thank you all for your generosity. My students were so excited when they saw the computer. They immediately wanted to get started and use it. I was able to meet the individual academic needs of many of the students in my classroom. I just picked computer programs to meet their needs. Some of my students were working on ABC identification while others were practicing reading sight words.

All of my students love working on the different programs such as ABC Mouse and Starfall. They were also so excited when I was able to show them a video on how a caterpillar changes into a butterfly. We have even incorporated more music into the classroom using videos by Dr. Jean.

The computer has helped me to target lessons and activities specifically aimed to meet my students educational needs. I would like to thank you again for the computer and the laminator. You have given my students experiences with technology that I could never afford to have given them.”

  • Color My Pre Kinders World

    Funded Oct 6, 2015

My students were so excited to see the boxes come inside my classroom. They oohed and aahed when they saw what was in the boxes.

The access of a color printer has enabled me to print out a variety of brightly colored games, puzzles and anchor charts. The students have such a positive reaction to the items. They really want to use these materials. They are learning and having fun throughout the day.

The addition of an i pad has helped each child's academic needs to be targeted while working at the same workstation.

The science and math items are engaging and the students are eager to use them. They especially like practicing addition with the Magic Math Adding Machine. These new games have made math and science once again a very popular center to choose.

I want to thank you again for all your help and support . It truly is greatly appreciated. These materials have set a very positive pattern on how my students feel about their school experience.”

  • Learning By Centers

    Funded Dec 8, 2014

When my students saw the kitchen and pots and pans play set I heard voices shouting "I want to play in housekeeping! It's my turn!" The listening center while not as loud also enjoyed an enthusiastic response."I want to listen to Pete the Cat."

During language arts my students are able to listen to a book or poem in small group. They also can memorize the chants and songs associated with the alphabet. The listening center is also used during math time to hear number songs, pattern songs as well as counting books.

All the students are excited about using the dramatic play area. I have many "cooks" using recipes to make food for themselves. Discussions are long and happy. Even my quiet students are excited and talking to their peers about how many bowls of soup they are making and how they are serving dinner.

My students are using the water colors to paint pictures and writing about their paintings.

These materials have helped me teach some of my math and language arts objectives in a fun and active way. They have motivated my students to try to read and write independently. These activities will influence how my students feel about writing and reading for many years to come. Thank you again for your help and support. It really is greatly appreciated.”

  • iPad Frontiers for Pre-k

    Funded Oct 14, 2014

I would like to thank you all for your generosity. My students were so excited when they saw the I pads and the other materials. They were quick to learn how to use the I pads and wanted to use them right away!

As well as using the I pads we have been working with the math and science materials. The materials chosen were similar to some of the other math and science items I already had but at a more advanced level. While the children are at their work stations they are having fun as well as being challenged!

The I Pads apps, math and science kits have helped me to target lessons and activities specifically aimed to meet my students educational needs. I would like to thank you again for the I pads. You have given my students experiences with technology that I could never afford to have given them. My students will leave pre-k with very positive attitudes towards math and science.”

  • A Hodgepodge Of Fun With Math Centers

    Funded Oct 4, 2013

The first thing my students said upon receiving the math materials were " I want to play"! They are so excited about getting to use the new math manipulative's. They love going to the math center and discovering what they can do with the magnatiles, roller ramps and magnet builders. Comments such as "Look Miss Weeks my house is bigger than his" or "Look my ball is going so fast " are a few things I hear during math time. These are some of my students favorite items to use.

While I am working with a small group of students on a particular math objective my other students are busy using the counting games and the geo board designs to reinforce what they have already learned. The more advanced students are able to practice addition while playing the games.

Since I was able to purchase a wide variety of items, these math resources have helped me to make teaching math objectives really fun and exciting for my students. I am able to reinforce different objectives using these materials though out the entire year. They love math time and get very excited about going to the workstations.

I would just like to thank you again for your generosity. These materials have made math time a fun and memorable time in the classroom. This will help set a pattern on how they view and feel about mathematics throughout their school experience.”

  • Meaursuring Up!

    Funded Jul 4, 2013

I would like to thank all of you so much for your generosity. My school has lost funding due to a lower enrollment. The principal has not been able to provide the pre-k classes with extras to go into the math centers. My students are so eager now to go to the math center and work with the new materials. Comments such as " Can I go to math centers?","I want to go to the water center' and "I love math time" are heard though out the week.

They especially love going to the "How Much Does It Hold Centers" The children really enjoy working with water. They are learning about volume while having a great deal of fun.

These material have enabled me to expose my students to the math concepts of volume and measurement without having to resort to worksheets. These hands on experiences will stay with them much longer than a worksheet will. Thank you again for your help.”

    Ms. Weeks

My school is located in a predominantly Hispanic neighborhood. The students must be in a lower income bracket to qualify for per-k. Many of their parents are either from Hispanic countries or are first generation Americans. My four and five years old come eager and ready to learn about the world around them.
