  • Glow Day for Pre-K

    Funded May 13, 2024

We used these items on the last day of school. The activities had to be academic so we reviewed the alphabet, sounds, addition and subtizing objectives.

It was a secret what we were going to do. The children were so excited when we turned off the lights and had them put on the glasses, and bracelets. We used highlighters to trace and write the numerals and alphabets. They LOVED IT! They had so much fun. It was such a joy to hear their laughter and excitement as we were working on our objectives. This was a wonderful way to end the year. I am so grateful to you for enabling me to give this day to my students. Their last memory of pre k will be of having so much fun.

Thank you again for your generous donations.”

  • Great Beginnings For Pre K Fine Motor Skills

    Funded Aug 8, 2023

I would like to thank you for your generous donations. We have been using all the materials purchased on a weekly basis.

We have used the watercolor paper, pencils and paper towels to create self portraits and to do items that are focusing on the letters of the alphabet.

Play dough is very popular with my students. We practice our names, alphabets and shapes using play dough. They love using play dough.

The notebooks are used for our daily homework.

The card stock is used to create center activities to reinforce the letters of the alphabet as well as activities to reinforce math objectives such as subitizing, number recognition and patterns . It was also used for a family decorating pumpkin project.

The sheet protectors are used to help us practice writing our names on a daily basis.

My students love water coloring and doing the center activities.

In November, I will run off a template of a turkey to use in a family project. They will disguise the turkey.

Thank you again for donating to my project. I and my students really appreciate your donations.”

  • Let's Have Some Fun in Pre-K

    Funded Aug 5, 2022

My students have enjoyed and benefited from many of the items purchased by your generosity. The scratch and sniff stickers have been a big incentive for proper behavior in the classroom. They love receiving the stickers. They have especially enjoyed the items such as alphabots and numberbots. These toys not only help them review the alphabet and numerals but also help them with their fine motor skills.

Two of the items I purchased with the TPT gift cards were Letter Recognition Glitter Bombs and Hide and Seek Game | Gingerbread Man Sight Word Practice | Christmas Activities. These digital games help my students review and learn the letters of the alphabet and sight words in a very fun way. My students love it when I use these programs.

Your generosity has enabled me to help my students grow academically while having fun memories of Pre-k

Thank you so much for helping me give my students fun memories of their first year in school.”

    Ms. Weeks

  • A Boom for Pre K

    Funded Jun 14, 2022

Thank you so much for helping me purchase Boom Cards for my students. I love using Boom cards in my classroom. My students can use them in science, math, language arts as well as social studies.

My students get so excited when I use these boom cards on the Clever Touch. I can form relay groups and have them physically moving while practicing a particular objective. These cards enable me to differentiate between my students. I can assign a particular card on an Ipad and each child can be working on the same objective but at a different level according to each child's individual needs. "

I have a few children whose first language is not English. They particularly love playing the game with out any pressure.

Thank you again for your generous donations.”

  • Fun With Fine Motor

    Funded Sep 24, 2021

My students were so excited when they saw the boxes from Amazon. They loved looking at the play dough, water colors, pop beads and Plus Plus pieces. They couldn't wait to start using these materials.

They love play dough so we began using the play dough by practicing our alphabet letters and making items that begin with each letter of the alphabet. Later we used our play dough to stamp beginning letters of pictures and counting syllables of words.

My students enjoyed using the pop beads to form bracelet and necklace patterns.

The Plus Plus shapes were useful in practicing numerals 1-10.

In December we used our watercolors to paint our holiday gift to our parents.

Future projects will be creating winter scenes and snowmen with our watercolors as well as using play dough to practice our cvc words. Though out the rest of the year my students will be using these materials to practice their fine motor skills and at the same time their academic objectives. I love the fact that they are having fun while doing this.

Thank you so much for helping me give my students a fun year in Pre-k.”

  • Fine Motor Skills During Covid-19

    Funded May 5, 2021

Thank you so much for your generous donations. My students were so excited and happy to see the Amazon box come into the classroom. They wanted to use all the items they saw right away.

It has been so nice to give my students the opportunities to enjoy working with the new materials provided by your help. They enjoy creating and building different objects with their Legos. I love seeing their beautiful pictures made with either their watercolors, paints or tempera paint sticks. Play dough is always a favorite whether using it to practice letters, numerals, or shapes.

Hopefully, the restrictions we had this year will be removed. I plan to use these materials as part of my morning tub work. My students will be practicing language arts and math skills, strengthening their small hand muscles and having full.

Thank you again for your help.”

  • Virtual Learning in Pre-K

    Funded Apr 12, 2021

Thank you so much for the TPT gift card. This has been a very challenging year teaching our objectives. I had to come up with activities that both virtual and face to face groups could do at the same time. The gift card helped me choose resources that I could use with both groups.

I was able to buy more digital resources that incorporated movements within the language arts and math lessons. There were also resources that let all my students use manipulative such as buttons, pompoms, and playdough found at home as well as school. Using other digital programs helped my students practice and incorporate their technical skills. The most important thing is that my students were able to learn some of their objectives while enjoying themselves using these digital resources.”

  • Art Through Covis

    Funded Dec 8, 2020

Thank you so much for your help. My students have loved the materials which I was able to purchase with your assistance. We especially have used the tempera sticks, construction paper and tagboard. Valentine's cards for our parents were especially bright and beautiful using the tempera sticks. I was also able to download individual game cards and placemats to use in both language arts and math activities.

My students were so happy to see the box arrive from Amazon . They were especially excited about receiving their own small box of buttons ,craft sticks and pompoms to use with sorting and stem activities. They loved having their own materials.

In the next few days we will be studying insects. I plan to have my students use some of these materials for making their own insects, life cycles and a few games. Thank you again for your generosity.”

  • New Beginnings Through Long Distance Learning

    Funded Nov 12, 2020

Thank you so much for the Teachers Pay Teachers gift cards. I chose digital resources that could be enjoyed by both my digital and face to face students. My students love using these resources.

This year the students are not able to move around the room because of social distancing. My students have been very good about staying in their area but being four years old it is very hard on them. They often ask me to use some of the digital activities that allow them to dance and jump around their space. I love having these activities that make learning fun for both groups of children.

There are some resources that I purchased with the gift cards that have enable my students to use playdough and dry erase markers, these materials are loved by my class. Two specific programs lets the students use playdough for practicing numbers as well as words. These programs are also editable so I can target certain objectives specific to a group of students. This makes it fun for both virtual and face to face students. Thank you again for giving me the means to make teaching during this difficult time fun for my students.”

  • Pre-K iPad for Distance Learning

    Funded May 29, 2020

Thank you so much for funding my project. The Ipad and gift certificate has made it a bit easier having to teach virtually this year. I have been able to use the Ipad in many different ways. I was able to assign different projects for the students. Using different apps on my Ipad helped the children create Mother's Day cards as well as projects about zoo animals. The Ipad used as a document camera help enhance my virtual lessons to the students on a daily basis.

The TPT certificate was very much appreciated. I was able to purchase some interactive alphabet and math programs for my students.

I cannot wait for my students to be able to use the Ipad when we return to school .

Thank you so much for your generosity.”

My school is located in a predominantly Hispanic neighborhood. The students must be in a lower income bracket to qualify for per-k. Many of their parents are either from Hispanic countries or are first generation Americans. My four and five years old come eager and ready to learn about the world around them. They especially love learning through play.
