Mathematicians in Progress
Funded Sep 25, 2018Thank you so much for your generous donations to my classroom project. The mathematicians are beginning to show a love for math! The double sided counters are a huge success. We have been using them for addition and subtraction. These hands on manipulatives are perfect for teaching simple addition and subtraction problems. They request these over the counting bears.
The most used item so far is the sheet protector. I use these to display work, divide as sorting mats, practice handwriting, and they work great as traveling clipboards. These sheet protectors are dry erase and this makes it super convenient to reuse paper. The mathematicians are learning so much from just one simple tool.
Thank you again for supporting my classroom. Learning can be challenging for these students. You are helping break that barrier and advocate for all students. I cannot wait to see what these Mathematicians can learn in units to come!”

Let's Learn Through Play!
Funded Nov 22, 2017From the bottom of my heart, I thank you for your kind donation. Without you, my classroom would not have these amazing classroom materials. To me, these materials are not just toys. These are materials that connect students. They create a sense of community in my classroom. Students are open to take risks, build problem solving strategies, and learn how to communicate their ideas and thoughts.
These materials have created such a sense of joy in my classroom. A special moment happened when the students used the play fruit to feed the stuffed animals. A student who has limited oral language skills began saying "look I chop!" This student speaks only in 1 or 2 word phrases. It was an eye opening experience for me, because I had never heard this student speak using so many words. The next day, I got the fruit out again, and the student began sharing and using even more words with the students in the room. I have never heard so many great words spoken from that student. Wow! The power that play has is something truly special.
Thank you again for making moments like these happen. As we continue to use the toys, I am looking forward to watching the students build upon their language, social and math skills.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Buletko
