While my school is a fabulous place to be, we are lacking in available technology. I am requesting four mini ipads. An iPad allows students to learn new skills in a fun, exciting way. If you walked into my room you might see a small group conducting research based upon a social studies or science inquiry. During Reading Workshop, small groups would be working on the iPads completing a comprehension assessment or working on a spelling or reading app. During math students can use the minis to work on a math app with matching, patterning, tracing, addition, subtraction, and problem-solving. Differentiated learning can occur with students being assigned apps at their level which could be remedial or more challenging. Please do what you can to improve the learning environment for these elementary children.
